GITEX in Dubai: HARTING presents intelligent solutions for electromobility
The HARTING Technology Group will show how automated charging works at the Etisalat booth at this year's GITEX Technology Exhibition (October 6-10, 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates). Etisalat is a state-owned telecommunications company in the United Arab Emirates that provides telephone and internet services. Etisalat is also driving forward technologies of the future such as Cloud usage and the Internet of Things.
HARTING will use the Dubai exhibition to present solutions for the future of electromobility together with its partners. These include the KUKA automated charging assistant. The charging assistant from Augsburg automation specialist KUKA inserts the HARTING charging plug into the vehicle socket, guided by a sensor, and stops the charging process as soon as the battery in the drive has reached the required level. The intuitively operated Innogy charging station is both networked as well as secure and reliable. In addition to the highest data protection standard, the controls offer maximum ease of use.
Renewable energies will increasingly be the focus of attention in the United Arab Emirates and the other Gulf states in the future, as these countries are looking to free themselves from dependence on oil in the long term. HARTING has suitable solutions in the field of electromobility in its portfolio and wants to seize the opportunity to gain customers from the region, explains Dominik Nimmesgern, General Manager HARTING Middle East.
HARTING is a direct supplier (Tier 1) for BMW and the Volkswagen Group. HARTING supplies country-specific charging cables for the AC and DC voltage range for the Porsche Taycan. In addition, the Technology Group works with almost all automakers worldwide. In two production plants in Sibiu (Romania) and in a production plant in the neighbouring town of Agnita, HARTING primarily manufactures electrical and electronic industrial connectors, Mode 2 and Mode 3 charging cables for e-vehicles and charging stations, actuators for various applications in vehicles, and communications and hybrid connectors. Romania is the largest foreign manufacturing location of the HARTING Group.
