Meet our Marketing Intern
Over the summer of 2017, HARTING has welcomed Josh White to the team, who has joined the Marketing department as a Temporary Marketing Administration Assistant. We had a quick chat with Josh to find out a bit more about him and how he has been finding things since joining in June.
What does your job entail?
My main responsibility is to organise the point of sale database. When a purchase is made from one of HARTING’s distributors, the transaction information is logged in a database, which I then process and analyse. This data is then used to analyse industry-buying trends, product growth trends and to support marketing activities. However, as my job title suggests, I also do other odd jobs such as assisting with the CRM management and helping where needed in the marketing department which adds a bit of variety to my day!
What attracted you to HARTING?
HARTING appealed to me because it is a global business and is constantly growing, making it an interesting company to work in. As a student, my experience of work so far has mostly been in retail, so to work in an office environment has been a welcome change.
Are you enjoying your time at HARTING?
Definitely! There is a good atmosphere here and everybody has been very welcoming, I am especially enjoying the cake that often appears in the corner of the office! I’m also enjoying learning a little bit about the number of different markets that the company deals with and where all the different HARTING products go. It’s just a shame that I’m only here for the summer!
What are your plans for after the summer? Are you back to university?
I recently finished my BA in History and was very excited to receive the news that I have achieved a First. I will be starting my MPhil in Modern British History at Cambridge University in September. My dissertation will explore how political parties changed between 1918 and 1926 in response to working class men, and some women, getting the vote. So, if you want to find me, I’ll probably be in the library buried in some books!
