Online training as digital retrofit experts
The learning platform University4Industry shows in demonstrable manner how to achieve data availability with the MICA® Edge Computer from HARTING on a machine in a brownfield. For demonstration purposes, the model of a steam engine – the symbol of the 1st industrial revolution – was connected to an MICA as an edge gateway. The resulting data obtained from the system, e.g. pressure, temperature and speed, etc. are available online for monitoring, storage and analysis – the starting point for profitability calculations and predictive maintenance applications.
University4Industry uses these types of use cases in its online courses to further deepen previous knowledge gained online in hands-on fashion. University4Industry is an online learning platform that provides first-hand insights from industry experts. On the platform, users will find content and expertise from Bosch-Rexroth, HARTING, Lenze, McKinsey & Company, Siemens, Fraunhofer and VDMA.
To date, the Munich-based startup U4I, founded in 2015, has collaborated with more than 100 experts from 60 industrial companies and has produced over 160 hours of relevant learning content on digitisation and Industry 4.0. The range of topics covers almost all subjects relevant to the digitisation of connectivity with OPC-UA, machine learning, retrofitting industrial plants, virtual engineering, Design Thinking, and even Blockchain, among numerous others.
A special feature of U4I's online learning programs is the user-group specific learning paths U4I creates to match companies’ training requirements. This makes learning relevant digitisation topics particularly efficient and effective. U4I will use HARTING’s stand (Hall 10 / Stand 140) at the SPS IPC Drives 2018 trade fair to e.g. present online learning programs for digitisation developed together with HARTING.
A total of more than eight hours of high-quality learning content (German language) is available online in the "HARTING Campus" on U4I. The course program includes practical exercises and application examples as well as technical fundamentals and standards. Users can also earn a certificate for completing the courses. A coupon code available from U4I at the HARTING stand can be used to take all courses free of charge in the Online HARTING Campus.
